The Harrison Family

Letter to Dad Recieved 5/26/10

Dad,

How is everything going? That is so awesome to hear that you got the job. Even funnier that they are going to send you to California how awesome is that. At least you will be able to be confident in your skills and not have to worry about rolling up on some situation you have no idea what to do.
Its funny how the Lord a lot of the times likes to bring us to the point where we are spending more time on our knees then we are standing. Its something I realized a lot on my mission I feel like at times I go through the Nephite Pride cycle where the Lord is blessing me and I get confident in my own skills versus being grateful and relying on the Lord. Then something bad seems to happen and you just have a crappy week sometimes even a crappy set of weeks. Which really makes things hard. Then you start to begin to humble yourself, And turn more to the Lord and you begin to do anything and everything with in your power to get a investigator. In a miraculous way the Lord provides. Only after he has seen your willingness to be humble and turn to him and rely completely on him. Then putting forth the faith and going and doing which the doing part at times is the hardest. Its the way things always seem to work for me anyways.
But have fun working at a job you enjoy I am glad to see that you are excited again. Thanks for everything. Love Kyle.

Mom,

Whats up?That is crazy that Clay and Justin are moving(cousins that he grew up with). What are they going to do? Do they know how many girls are going to be there? But that is good that they are going together it will make things a lot easier.

The Harrison's weren't home which was kind of crappy but it was a holiday here. It was Queen Moms birthday or something stupid like that.
For sure the new companion isn't like Elder Beus, But he is a funny kid a really good kid. Fortunately I really don't have to work to hard to light a fire. He told me he wanted me to help him finish strong and to push him so I have. So much that he started chafing and also got blisters on his feet. I couldn't stop laughing but at the same time, I really do feel bad for him. It doesn't help either the first week he gets here its one of the hottest weeks, now we both look like lobsters. Of course Nicholas makes a comment on that. Jerk!
Lets see there is some funnies so he(Elder Hendrickson) loves to give the sisters in our district a hard time. One of them wore a hoodie the other day and President banned hoodies so he calls her out on the phone that night. They both tried to argue both sisters that is. Elder Hendricksen fires off look don't explain yourself to me just take it up with the Lord. I was laughing so hard. So the next question is from a sister named Sister Billings she says, Elder Hendricksen do you have a girl waiting for you back at home? His response is why Sister Billings you want in on the action? When we told this to Stowell,Hendricksen said that clearly Sister Billings was coming on to him. Well it ended with them saying you need to learn how to respect women and hanging up I loved it of course. The next day they call again and he answers cause I don't want to talk to them. Cole Harbour Morgue how can I help you? Yeah they didn't like it. Then the last time they called he answers Celestial Kingdom why the Hell aren't you here? I thought it was the funniest thing ever. So that is it on funnies.

Now more for the serious stuff. So this week we were knocking and had no luck at all. We go to church and I am like it would be awesome to have a investigator here. Well towards the end Elder Stowell and Nicholas come pull us out. They introduce to a guy from Korea who attended all 3 hours of church and happens to live in our area I was like now way but also felt really grateful for the whole thing. So we are going to go teach him tomorrow. I am pretty pumped especially since when he introduced himself in the other ward I guess he said that he is planning on coming back from now on. So it will be awesome to be able to teach him.I feel extremely blessed and grateful to have had that happen. So that is definitely a true testimony to me that prayers are heard and sometimes it takes a little while for it to happen. But anyways thanks for everything love ya tons.

Elder ? to the Rescue

Wow what does one say about this, Other than way to make a parent proud. I guess this is what happens when you are bored.

THis is Kelly, along with Elder Bues and Elder Farrance

Letter Recieved 5/19/10

Mom,

Whats up? Well nothing to new is happening other then Elder Beus is leaving which stinks pretty bad. I am staying here another transfer and getting Elder Hendricksen who is going home after this transfer. So its just crazy I will be able to stay here longer then 6 months.
When do the Lakers, Suns play? Is Jake talking a lot of crap?

Other then that me and Beus are upset but we knew it was going to happen it was time for him to go.
That is cool that Vanderdoes talked to you did you tell him when my P day was?

Oh and get this the last week I talked to a lady from Colorado it was so funny she called and I was like what the crap who is this, we talked about how she was wanting to move to either Cole Harbour or Sackville. So since I served in both I of course recommend Cole Harbour I like it a lot better here, I think the ward is better.

The highlight of the week though was Kelly's baptism it was awesome to go to. It was funny she showed up late and almost backed out it was good though she at least knew the seriousness of the commitment.Oh yeah get this we went to The Harrison's household it was way awesome to go over and talk to them. They expressed there love for us and said he can't understand certain things but that he wanted to make sure he didn't hurt us and also that we will always be loved by their family. So little does he know we will still stop by and help him wrap his mind around those certain things. Ha ha. But it will be good it was good to finally get a hold of them and talk to them.

But love ya tons tell dad best of luck with everything.

Love Kyle

letter recieved 5/12/10

Mom,

It was way fun to talk to you guys as well. I couldn't stop laughing at some of the stuff I was getting the kids to tell me.Everyone seemed to be doing good and happy, being out here there is nothing more refreshing and reassuring then to hear that your family is doing good.
I agree it was really good to talk to Jim it was one of the funnest conversations. The saying of the phone call goes to Colburn going hold on My sexy wife wants to talk to you. Please put that on the blog.
I badly wished I could of been there to see Doug Beebe just freaking out about the snake. I remember one time at work when he saw a spider he was up and out of his chair in seconds it made me laugh so hard.
Mom its not that you like to feed people,as much as you like to serve people. You got that from grandma wanting to serve I remember you would rarely find her not serving people. It was interesting this week, In district meeting we were to share with everyone a disciple of Christ in our life that we looked up to. So I decided to go with grandma Smith I talked about her strong faith in Christ how you could always catch her on her knees in earnest prayer. I shared how she would go to the soup kitchens and feed people and take them the food and then sit and have a conversation. Grandma was an amazing person one I will always be grateful to have known and be taught by. I hate crying and so to stop the tears I just had to look down, That didn't stop my voice. I don't know why at times it is harder then others to talk about her.I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation, And to know what will happen and to know life only gets better and most important that we will be together again.
I love ya tons,It was more then awesome talking to you those last two hours were killer before I could call. I never thought the time would come. I love ya and miss ya thanks for doing everything you could to get me out here.

Love,

Kyle

Modeling there new ties.

letter recieved on 5-5-10

Mom,

Whats up? That is crazy that Adam was able to baptize Chase I saw the picture it made me laugh so hard. That is crazy that Elder Hathaway is already going home. Where is Elder Mouso now? But how is everything else going back at home?

By the way I will be calling at 8 which will be 4 your time. So you will hear from me then.

Unfortunately we weren't able to find anyone new this week. But we are still going and talking to some of are other investigators.

But that is crazy that Lauryn Van Roy's parents moved here that must of been exciting for her.
As for Elder Beus he is not well all 6 of his sinus's are inflamed. Which is just not good at all. But the baptism isn't till May 16Th. So yeah its a little ways away and also me Beus, Miller, and Redford are going to be singing not just me. I would never ever agree to something like that ever. I am assuming you invited the Beebe's as well though right? By the way got the ties loved them, Elder Stowell, Nicholas and Redford all said to tell you thanks. Actually Nicholas might be writing you except I forgot to get him your email. But anyways I will talk to you on Sunday see ya later for now. Love ya tons. Elder Davis.
